Bellam Thalikalu is a classic Vinayaka Chavithi special dessert, offered to Lord Ganesha as this delicacy is his favorite. A traditional Indian Pudding or Payasam (Kheer).
Rice Flour - 1 cup Grated Jaggery - 1 cup Grated Coconut - 1/2 cup Dry Fruits - A handful Salt - a pinch Cardamom Powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
Method of Preparation:-
Let's see how to make festival special prasad recipe Bellam Thalikalu. To a Pan, add 1 1/2 cup water for 1 cup of rice flour. Add a pinch of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of clarified butter, and brig it to a boil. As the water starts boiling add 1 cup rice flour and stir it well. Mix it well and put off the flame, place a lid on to the pan for 1 to 2 minutes. After 2 Minutes will knead it well. Move the knead dough to a separate bowl if the pan is too hot to keand it. With the help of dry flour, mold the dough into noodles or roll them into thalikalu. Sprinkle dry flour on them so that they don't stick to each other. Place them all on a plate sprinkled with some dry flour. Take a wide pan, and fry the dry fruitd first. Heat 1 tablespoon clarified butter in it, and fry the nuts of your choice till brown. Now when the nuts are done place them aside in a bowl for a while. To the same pan add 4 to 5 Cups of water and bring it to boil. Add 1 cup grated jaggery and let it melt,Sugar can also be added for more sweetness. Add 2 Teaspoons of Sugar also. Now add the prepared rolls (thalikalu). Add them in portions or batches with 10-20 seconds gap. Don't stir them much. Now add 1/2 cup fresh grated coconut and cook for 2 minutes. To a bowl of water, add 2 tablespoons rice flour and mix it into a thin paste. Add this paste to the thalikalu pan, to make the dish thick and enhance the taste. Cook for 2 more minutes and add 1 teaspoon cardamom powder Bellam thalikalu are ready to serve!
