Paneer Butter Masala Recipe | How to make Paneer Butter Masala

1. Paneer – 1/4 Kg
2. Onions – 1/2 Cup
3. Green Chillies – 3
4. Ginger – 2 Small Pieces
5. Garlic Cloves – 5-6
6. Chilli Powder – 2 Teaspoons
7. Coriander Seeds Powder – 1 Teaspoon
8. Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 1/2 Teaspoon
9. Tomato Pieces – 1 Cup
10. Cumin Seeds – 1 Teaspoon
11. Turmeric Powder – 1/2 Teaspoon
12. Garam Masala – 1/4 Teaspoon
13. Salt – 2 Teaspoons
14. Kasoori Methi (Dried Fenugreek Leaves) – 1 Tablespoon
15. Cashew Nuts – 10-12
16. Butter – 3 Tablespoons

Recipe Notes for Paneer Butter Masala

Heat 1 tablespoon butter in pan.

Firstly fry 1 teaspoon cumin seeds and cashew nut seeds

Then fry for a couple of minutes and add onion

Fry for a minute and add green chillies, ginger, garlic pieces and mix

Fry for a couple of minutes and add tomato pieces

These are cut into bigger pieces since we are going to grind them into a paste later

Fry till tomatoes become soft

Add a little water, close lid and cook

After tomatoes become soft, grind this mixture into a soft paste

Heat 1 tablespoon butter in pan.

Add 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, 2 teaspoons chilli powder and mix

Then add 1 teaspoon coriander seeds powder, 1 1/2 teaspoon ginger garlic paste and mix

Add the prepared onion tomato paste and mix

Add water for gravy, 2 teaspoons salt or salt to taste and mix

Cook for 5 minutes on low flame

Add paneer pieces

Here I lightly fried paneer in oil. This step is optional

Mix and let paneer pieces cook for 5 minutes on low flame

Add crushed kasoori methi (dried fenugreek leaves) and mix

Then add some cream

Add 1/2 tablespoon butter and mix

Serve hot with roti or naan!
