Restaurant Style Prawns Fry Recipe

1. Prawns – 1/2 Kg
2. Onions – 2 Cups
3. Green Chillies – 3
4. Ginger-Garlic Paste – 1 Teaspoon
5. Cumin Seeds – 1/2 Teaspoon
6. Chilli Powder – 2 Teaspoons
7. Salt – 2 Teaspoons
8. Turmeric Powder – 1/4 Teaspoon
9. Coriander Seed Powder – 1 Teaspoon
10. Garam-Masala – 1/4 Teaspoon
11. Oil – 3 Tablespoons
12. Coriander Leaves
13. Curry Leaves

Recipe Notes for Prawns Fry

Clean 1/2 kg prawns and put them in a bowl.

Add ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon turmeric, ½ teaspoon chilli powder.


Let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes.

Heat pan.

Add 1 teaspoon oil.

Fry marinated prawn pieces.

Stir continuously so the pieces don’t burn.

Fry till all the water seeping out of the prawns pieces boils away.

Put them in a plate.

Heat pan.

Add 2-3 tablespoons of oil.

Add ½ teaspoon cumin seeds, 2 cups onions.

Close the lid.

Add 1 ½ teaspoon salt and mix.

Add 3 diced green chillies.

Fry till the onions turn brown.

Add ¼ teaspoon turmeric, 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.

Add 1 ½ teaspoon chilli powder, 1 teaspoon coriander seed powder.


Add 1/4 teaspoon garam-masala powder and mix.

Add fried prawns and cook on low flame for 10 minutes.

Sprinkle coriander leaves and curry leaves.

Serve hot as curry or side dish!
