Sweet Poha

Sweet Poha is a healthy and tasty snack recipe. This dish is also a great choice as an offering to God. It is a no-cook recipe and hardly takes 10 minutes to prepare it. It is also referred to as Meetha Poha in Hindi and Teppi Atkulu in Telugu. Made with Flattened or Beaten Rice.


Poha – 2 cups

Grated Coconut – 1 cup

Grated Jaggery – 1 cup

Cardamom Powder

Sesame Seeds – 2 teaspoons

Dry Fruits ( Cashew nuts and Raisins)


Method of Preparation:-

Let’s see how to make a healthy and tasty dessert – sweet Poha. It is also referred to as Meetha Poha. Made with Flattened Rice/ Beaten Rice.

Firstly, to a mixing bowl, add 1 cup coconut powder and 1 cup jaggery, Use only freshly grated coconut. And grated jaggery so that it melts soon.

Mix them and let it sit for 20-30 minutes. 

In the meantime will fry the dry fruits in clarified butter as it gives a nice flavor to the Poha. And place them aside for a while.

We can see that the jaggery has melted, will mix the mixture well.

Take 2 cups flattened rice in a separate bowl, sprinkle some water so that it softens. Put it aside for a while.

To the coconut- jaggery mixture, add 1/2 a teaspoon of cardamom powder for flavor, 2 to 3 teaspoons of fried sesame seeds, 1 teaspoon Ghee, and flattened rice and mix them all.

Mix well and garnish with dry fruits and freshly grated coconut.

Sweet Poha is ready to serve!
